More Time
Don't forget the value of your own time, a good website should free up your time to let you do more of the things that are important to you!
Use automation and integration to remove the workload from your own shoulders. People usually think that e-commerce pretty much covers all of that, but in fact there are many ways your website can save you time beyond generating leads and sales.
Start by making sure you've got a good Content Management System (CMS). We'd always recommend WordPress as it's the most flexible CMS we've found.
You need to have something that's easy to understand and use so that you can make changes quickly, but also something that integrates well with other systems, as that integration will allow for online business processes to be automated saving little bits of time regularly that can add up to hours, days or even weeks over time.
Good technology needs maintenance - you'll know this if you look at your phone and consider how regularly there are app and system update notifications that need to to approve them. If you're doing these maintenance tasks manually, it's a good idea to look at ways they can be automated.
Reporting tools will give you all the feedback you need to understand how your website is working technically, for your audience and for your business. Integration with good analytics tools can give you a lot of great feedback to understand what your site is doing right (and wrong!) and how to optimise it.
