Improve Your Web Site

Free advice and resources from industry experts to help improve your website

About

Why?

Whenever you give away something for free, people always become suspicious and ask “Why are you doing this?!”

The answer is simple in this case:-
We’re giving away what we’ve learned as a web agency to show people how to improve their websites
There are no catches here, just good free advice based on decades of experience in the industry of building websites.

You’ll find all kind of advice out there (good and bad!) from people looking at individual techniques, but this is the first website that is solely dedicated to look at things not just more broadly but as a whole and consider how a website can be improved to help a business.

Please use the free advice here to help you grow and make better websites, knowing all the advice is gathered from us having tried different ways over the decades and finding what works best.  Remember that everything here we’ve used as part of strategies for building effective websites, so you’ll also find that no once piece of advice contradicts another – but rather each works to support the other and go hand-in-hand with them.

There are three main types of approach to building things on the web:

1) DIY – Do It Yourself
Almost everyone starts here, it’s cost effective and gets you online.  But what’s missing are all of these details to not just have a website, but have one that works hard and effectively for a business.

2) DWY – Done With You
This is usually how our agency (Urban Haze) works, we do much of the initial heavy lifting but them help clients learn how to do things themselves.
This website provides a handy manual for those people to refer back to when needed.

3) DFY – Done For You
As businesses grow, people need to spend more time looking after their own businesses and have less time to do these things on their website.
They can still cherry-pick the ones that want to do themselves that are likely to produce the best results, or see how all these things fit together for an overall improved website plan and know they can get the help they need to get it done right.

The value an agency brings isn’t just in the skills that they bring, but in doing them the right way in the first place to help find the best techniques that are going to produce the best results for any individual business’s unique requirements.

Free Downloadable Guides

On many articles you’ll find links to links to free downloadable guides that we’ve created with more in-depth information.
You’ll just need to share a name an email address to get the guide.  Don’t worry we’re not going to spam you, but we will send you a few more emails with even more free tips and information related to what you’re interested in that you’re likely to also find useful – and we don’t want to spam anyone (we hate spam too!) so you’ll always have the option to keep your free guides and immediately unsubscribe.

What’s in it for us?

Whilst the information here is free, we have also included links to pages on our agency website if people are looking beyond doing things themselves.

Some of the links out to third party websites are affiliate links, so they pay us a small (very small!) commission if you end up buying from them off our recommendation.  But links have been chosen to recommend the best options available regardless of any affiliation.

So that answers the second question people ask, which is usually “What’s in it for you?”
If people like the kind of free advice we’re giving here and don’t have time to do it themselves, then we hope they’ll consider using our agency to help them.

What’s Next?
